POSTPONED - Microservices and Serverless Architecture

Collabüro in partnership with VladoCloud Solutions Inc. Presents

Microservices and Serverless Architecture Presentation and Workshop Series

If you are involved in the IT industry as an IT professional or a customer long enough, you probably noticed IT often struggles (for many different reasons) to keep up with the needs of the business.

Microservices represent one of the possible solutions for building large software systems in a better way, focusing on rapid, reliable and frequent delivery.

If you want to learn more, you might be interested in our series of presentations and workshops.

You are invited to attend our first presentation!

Introduction to Microservices Architecture
Date: March 25, 2020  (Postponed to a future date - keep checking)
Time: 6:00-8:00 pm
Venue: Collabüro, 499 Preston St. Ottawa, ON

You will learn:
  • What are the possible drawbacks of building a monolithic solution?
  • What are microservices?
  • The characteristics, benefits (and drawbacks) of the microservices architecture.
You will also see a simple example of microservice implementation using
  • Java, Spring Boot and Docker
  • AWS Lambda and AWS API Gateway

Who Should Attend:
The first presentation won't be too technical, so developers, software architects, project and product managers, CIOs, CTOs who didn't get in touch with microservices (yet) and would like to learn more are welcome.

Who Should NOT Attend:
Seasoned IT professionals with a rich exposure to microservices and serverless architecture. This presentation covers the basics, so you probably won't hear anything new. However, if you want to socialize or contribute with your experience and thoughts, you are more than welcome, too.

What's Next:

After this event we will continue with more presentations and workshops focusing on
  • Building Microservices with Java, Spring Boot and Docker
  • Serverless Architecture with AWS
  • Microservices Patterns
Stay tuned, more details to come: (coming soon)
